Art Appreciation programme for the rest of 2016 Thursday October 6th by 10.07 train to truro museum to see Tony Foster's exhibition of watercolour landscapes of the favourite places of some famous people eg. david Attenborough, bob Geldof. A project that has taken him many years. Thursday October 20th by 10.07am train to Penlee House Penzance to see the work of Wilhemena Barnes-Graham, 'a Scottish artist in St Ives' where she gained a reputation as a leading british modernist. maybe to other galleries too as the mood takes us. Thursday 17th November, a rare opportunity to visit a local art collection! tea and cake at 3pm with Alison and John Hurst, Bee Cottage, Terras Hill. please bring your own favourite painting to share with us if you would like to. Friday 9th December, by 10.07am train to Falmouth to see an exhibition entitled little and large. comparing 18th century miniatures to contemporary 2metrR canvases. we will take in other delights to be found en route. which takes us to the new year and our planning meeting on Friday 13th January at 2.30pm at the Royal Oak in their lovely quiet little back room. meanwhile there are two things for next year that you might like to know about- Tuesday 21st February at the conservative club at 8pm, hosted by the ladies group, a talk by Henrietta Boex from Falmouth Art Gallery. Friday 3rd March at the red store Lerryn 10.30-4.30. A day school with WEA at £22 about the slade school of art in 1912. to book phone 0845 458 2758 but I image its first come first served as the red store is quite small.
