Update 22nd August 2019

This 21 mile bike ride on Wednesday 21st August was organized by Carol and John Jones of Liskeard U3A. Starting at Dobwalls the ride took us on some lovely Cornish Lanes and Woodlands stopping at Herodsfoot for lunch.

At the end of the ride the Jones’s invited us all for tea in their lovely garden. This is surely what the U3A organization is all about.

This wasthe first time that all 6 riders had ebikes which certainly make the hills abit easier. But don’t be put off if you have an ordinary bike, you can stilljoin us. Our rides are on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. If youare interested please contact me

Update 18th May 2018

OldCranks Bike Ride Wednesday 16thMay 2018

Forthe May ride we decided to cycle the Camel Trail from End to End andback. Unfortunately I was suffering from a poorly knee awaiting anxray next week so I opted to Start at Bodmin to Padstow. Got toPadstow in quick time, my knee bearing up well. On the return about 2miles out of Padstow my rear tyre split so much so that even the U3Asupplied puncture kits were of no use.

ConsequentlyI had to push my bike back to Wadebride which was not a goodexperience. Nick Warrick accompanied me and then cycled back toBodmin to his car. Returning to Wadebride to pick me up and take meback to Bodmin to my car. I then had to go back to Wadebride toretrieve my bike. The other riders were so helpful and supporting intrue U3A fashion and I must thank them all. I will put this one downas a ride not to be remembered.

Iwonder if the U3A could supply a support vehicle? I think that thereply would be “On yer Bike.”
