Update 24th December 2017 Theatre Group Christmas Lunch The Theatre Group meets on the third Thursday of the month at the Royal Oak to plan its numerous outings. Did you know that we organise an average of 75 outings a year? This year, we agreed that our December meeting would be sweet and short and followed by a Christmas lunch. A big thank you to the staff at the Royal Oak for all the effort that they went into to make the tables look very festive - the best we had seen so far this year- and for cooking a delicious and plentiful Christmas lunch. We all enjoyed it! We wish our members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with enjoyable and stimulating outings. Jenny December  2017 We had a short meeting before enjoying an excellent Christmas lunch at our monthly abode, the Royal Oak. The TR2 trip will probably be afternoon of 6th March - Annie will confirm. Jan 23  Ann H will arrange eve visit to HFC to see Sultans of String. Oct 31 Delia arranging HFC for Joanna Lumley eve - a long way off but will sell quickly. November  2017 We were pleased to welcome a new member amongst the many attending this meeting. Having dealt with our ongoing arrangements we decided on four new events for the new year:- Feb 17, eve - 'Hi de Hi!' at the Church Rooms from our Lostwithiel Thespians. Helen will arrange this when tickets are available ( Jan ) Feb 28,eve - An evening with Levison Wood, explorer, at HFC, organised by Pat Mar 3, mat - 'Art' award winning comedy at TRP, contact Jenny, 18 seats reserved, 3 still currently available. A Tues afternoon tba - TR2 trip, Plymouth, to see scenery and costume departments and rehearsal rooms, plus tea. Annie is booking this event. Our next meeting starts later, 11.30, and is followed by the indulgence of a Royal Oak Christmas Lunch! October 2017 We have a spare ticket for the ballet Aladdin at Theatre Royal, Plymouth, matinee next Sat 28th Oct. available to any u3a member. A short notice bargain for someone! We plan to see the live streaming of Rigoletto on 16th Jan '18 book with Judy. Our December meeting falls on 21st so we decided to have Christmas Lunch at the Royal Oak as a treat!  Deb has made a provisional booking for 16 and we will have a brief meeting beforehand, (from 11.30) with lunch at 12.30pm.  The menu can be previewed on the Oaks website and copies will be available Nov 16th at next meeting when bookings need confirming and deposit paid. Three other events were mooted but we are so busy we were unable to fit them in! September  2017 Macbeth - the acclaimed Ninagawa Japanese production at Theatre Royal - 13 Oct. August 2017 Another well attended meeting with plenty of ideas flowing.  We added a further three events to our current list of 21 (including Warhorse 6/9/18, booked) and what a variety! Well done to our enthusiastic members. June  2017 As one of our number has moved out of the area we were able to welcome a new member who was on the waiting list. Shown in May news, below, are ten events yet to come, some of these are still available at present ( please contact whoever is arranging the trip that interests you ). Most unusually, though, we found nothing to add to this list!  Hope we will be luckier on July 20th at the next meeting.
