We decided to repeat last years enjoyable Christmas lunch after our December meeting at the Royal Oak. Deb offered to arrange this and we can book at October's meeting, 18th at 10.30am AUGUST 2018 Ann has booked Kneehighs 'FUP' for 18th Sept, evening performance. Deb is reserving seats for 'Still Alice' at TRP 1st November matinee. The Slidebelly evening in the Church Rooms has been postponed. We'll spread the word when tickets and a date are available. Our next meeting is 20th September, 11am.  From October we revert to a 10.30 start. JULY  2018 ********** It was good having 18 members this month planning, organising and socialising over refreshments at the Royal Oak.   Ann gave a glowing report on Wildworks '100Unearth' at Heligan, Jenny offered to get tickets but with only three performances left, and no previous response due to it being a promenade event we didn't get there. Next years event perhaps? Today, in lovely sunshine, we had a cliff-top picnic followed by Global Theatre Co's version of A Servant of Two Masters at the Minack. Our thanks to our drivers for making possible this super trip. Future plans for AUGUST shown in earlier months meetings are Steel Magnolias, 4th,  Jazz Cafe's 'Sultans', 18th,  Cherry Orchard, 22nd,  Sam Kelly/Wadebridge Folk Festival 27th. Kneehigh's UBU seemed unsuitable as a group trip but a few people are going independently. SEPTEMBER offers History Boys 3rd,  Warhorse 6th,  Wipers Times 15th, Swan Lake 22 & 29th to which we add:- 8th, 'Slidebelly' folk/Bluegrass at Lostwithiel church rooms - buy own tickets when available. 13th, La Boheme at St Austell cinema, to be discussed at next meeting as we don't have drivers and the trains are not good times. 21st, Boogie Night (Dino Batiste) at Lerryn - buy own tickets from C.R.B.O. On line or by phone/personally at St Austell or Bodmin T.I.Cs. OCTOBER offers two new events:- 4th, The Comedy About a Bank Robbery at TRP ( same company that gave us the hilarious Play that went Wrong) Helen will be booking this very soon. 18th, National Theatre's Macbeth at TRP. Contact Ann H. urgently (Mon 24th) as tickets are selling fast, or add yourself in by buying your own nearby to join the group. And in NOVEMBER Annie has offered to reserve a block of seats for Show of Hands, plus guests at TRP. Put your names on her list soon. So lots of choice for us all with more to come at our August meeting 11am at Royal Oak JUNE 2018 We searched through brochures and are now off to Wadebridge Folk Festival on Aug 27th to see Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys - Ann H. arranging. Also Matilda at Theatre Royal, Plymouth, a rather expensive event, Feb 14th '19 - Annie is reserving seats for this. Note that Jazz Cafe have booked The Sultans Aug 18th which we look forward to enjoying. July's meeting Thurs 19th will be at 11am. Please Note - our next meeting is on June 21st at the later time of 11 am. April  2018 Those who went to Hall for Cornwall to explore the theatre and learn about the new redesigned HFC found it a fascinating afternoon. There is one more opportunity for those who missed it before they close for two years, on May 10 at 2pm. Sterts is also refurbishing backstage and replacing the roof, but hopefully offering productions again in August. Helen It's good to see that Kneehigh's Asylum returns to Heligan this summer. Choice of play will be made at Aprils meeting as will an event at Minack in Aug/Sept. 11th March 2018 REPORTON VISIT TO TR2 OF 6THMARCH 2018  Tenmembers of the group made their way to Plymouth to visit TR2, thepurpose built Production and Learning Centre for The Theatre Royalsituated in Cattedownby the river Plym.Theextensive rehearsal facilities and 2000 sqm of workshop and wardrobespace provide unrivalled construction,production and costumeservices for the theatre industry. TheTheatre Royal Plymouth is one of the country’s finest regionaltheatres and their production services have an excellent reputation.They work with some of the world’s best designers, producers andproduction managers and deliver high quality sets, props and costumesfor TRP’s own productions and co-productions as well as for otherproducers throughout the UK and Europe. Aswe entered the reception area, we were rather intrigued by its twoexhibits, a very large bird and the plywood outline of a rocket. Our very helpful guide cleared up the mystery:  Exhibit1: the large bird had been used in a production: it is made out ofreal feathers and during the production had a motor which enabled itto move around the stage - it is now static.  Exhibit2: the Russian rocket that carried British Astronaut Tim Peake intospace could be landing in Plymouth. The city has been shortlisted tohost the space craft as part of an exciting UK tour. If selected,the exhibition which will include a state-of-the-art virtual realityexperience developed by Samsung will stay in Plymouth for 3 monthswith the opening ceremony held in August 2018. Venues which havesubmitted a bid include TR2, the Royal William Yard and theUniversity. Aftera visit to each of the three rehearsal rooms, our tour gave us aninsight into the different aspects of the Production Services:
